Suspect Sought in an Armed Robbery of an Establishment

Detectives assigned to the Metropolitan Police Department’s Fifth District are seeking the public’s assistance in attempting to identify and locate a suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery of an establishment that occurred on February 8, 2011.

At approximately 6:15 am on Tuesday, February 8, 2011, a suspect entered a supermarket located in the 1000 block of Brentwood Road, N.E. The suspect knocked on the cash office door, produced a handgun, and announced a robbery. The suspect then tied an employee up and stole an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the location in an unknown direction.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35-45 years old, approximately 5’6”-5’9” in height, weighing approximately 150-175lbs. The suspect is further described as having a light complexion with light facial hair, wearing a black cap, black jacket, and black pants, and a yellow shirt. This suspect was armed with a handgun.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $10,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any robbery committed in the District of Columbia.

Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to DC Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS and to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411. If the information provided by the caller to Crime Solvers leads to an arrest and indictment, that caller will be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000.
