Over the weekend the First District made four arrests for 2 robberies-
The first occurred on the 29th when a subject was approached by 2 juveniles while walking in the 300 block of F St NE at approximately 11:35 pm. One subject produced a silver handgun and announced a robbery. The subject was able to flee without property being taken and called 911- units were in the area when the call went out and stopped 2 juveniles fitting the description of the attempted robbery. The victim positively identified them as the assailants and they were arrested
The second incident occurred on January 31st – the victims reported they were approached by 2 juvenile subjects from behind as they were about to enter their home in the 100 block of TN Ave NE at around 8:15 pm who produced a handgun and announced a robbery- the suspects fled after being startled without obtaining any property- and were stopped by full stride (foot beat officers) who were in the area and observed the subjects running. Both subjects were positively identified and arrested- the detectives are investigating these subjects for being involved in similar robberies over the last 60 – 90 days.
